The Crusader soccer team defeated #1 ranked Johnson and Wales 1-0 after an intense fight on Friday. In the first half of the game, sophomore Mark LaRochelle scored the winning goal. The rest of the game was highly defensive, with Johnson and Wales in possession of the ball approximately 80% of the time in the second half of the game. The defensive players held strong, gaining the team an impressive win against one of the best teams in the league. This victory brings the team’s season record to 5-5. Next up, the men’s soccer team will be playing against Potomac State College of WVU, date and time TBD.
After a long stint of away matches, the Lady Crusaders volleyball team played at home on Saturday. The team beat Mid-Atlantic Christian 3-0. It was a hard-fought match, and both teams played well. The team will be playing at home again on Tuesday at 7:30pm when they take on Washington Adventist for the second time this season.
The rugby team played at home against Southern Virginia University on Saturday. After a tremendous battle where the Crusaders were in the lead for most of the game, the Crusaders fell 18-27. This loss comes on the heals of a recent 18-8 victory against Washington and Lee. The team’s season record now stands at 3-2. The rugby team will be playing Emory and Henry at home on November 2 at 1:00pm.
The Lady Crusader soccer team played at home on Saturday and defeated Potomac State of WVU 5-2. This victory brings the teams season record to an impressive 9-4. Freshman Sophia Hudson scored two goals, senior Anna Solitario scored two goals, and freshman Halina Hibl scored one goal. They will be playing at home on Wednesday at 4:30 pm against Washington Adventist.
