Michele Velasco (’91), Julian Heron, and Gary Schuberg have been elected to Christendom College’s Board of Directors. The three new members, coming from a variety of different fields and backgrounds, will look to support the mission of Christendom College and help guide the school towards further success.

The three new members began serving on the Board at the close of the fall semester, providing key guidance to the college and helping in the transition to online distance learning over the course of the spring. Each brought with them a passion for Christendom’s Catholic liberal arts education, ready to assist the college’s staff and faculty in forming the next generation of Catholic leaders.

Velasco, who earned her Bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from Christendom in 1991, joins the Board of Directors after years of serving on the college’s Alumni Advisory Council. She is currently the vice president of finance at Sirius XM Radio, bringing decades of leadership experience to Christendom’s Board as a result.

Joining her on the Board is longtime supporter Julian Heron as well. Heron is an owner of the firm Tuttle, Taylor & Heron located in Washington, D.C., serving as a lawyer for various high-level clients.

Gary Schuberg is the latest election to the Board of Directors, after seeing three of his children graduate from Christendom College with a fourth currently studying at the school as well. Schuberg works with Glen A. Schuberg, Inc., which provides transportation insurance for commercial auto businesses across California.
