Christendom mourns the passing of former Payroll, Human Relations, and Benefits Manager Carolyn Tharpe, who joyfully served the college community for over thirty years. She passed away peacefully on Friday, January 8.

Tharpe first joined Christendom in 1988, working with the rest of the college’s business office to ensure the successful operation of the college. In her role as Payroll, HR, and Benefits Manager, Tharpe handled the hiring paperwork for all college employees, as well as the payroll, for 31 years. The college grew exponentially during that time, with Tharpe working diligently to assist every employee — always joyfully.

“She loved the business ladies and all of the Christendom community,” said Tharpe’s daughter, Kelly. “Christendom was a blessing to her and our family…God always provided and took care of her and us, as He continues to even now.”

Tharpe will be sorely missed by the entire Christendom community.

May her soul, and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
