Registration for Christendom College’s annual Padre Pio Full-Tuition Scholarship Competition is now open for qualified students. The competition, which will be held in person on Saturday, March 20, will award three full-tuition scholarships and five runners-up scholarships to students attending Christendom as freshmen in the fall of 2021. All participants who do not win one of the 8 competition scholarships will be awarded a $1,000 competitor scholarship.
To qualify, applicants must have been accepted for Christendom’s 2021-22 academic year and have achieved the prerequisite standardized test scores. Interested students will also need to submit a one-page resume and fill out the registration form. Competitors must be physically present on campus for the competition on Saturday, March 20.
On March 20, students will write a timed essay and meet with a scholarship panel, and will have the opportunity to tour campus, meet with students and staff members, and attend Christendom informational sessions.
At least one parent is expected to accompany their student to the competition. At the end of the competition, competitors and their parents can enjoy an Irish-themed dinner featuring St. Patrick’s Day musical festivities led by Christendom president Dr. Timothy O’Donnell (check out this look at our 2019 St. Patrick’s Day Festivities!).
The deadline for registration is March 1, but due to growing interest, registration may close early if all competitor slots are filled. To secure a spot in the competition, early registration is encouraged.
