Christendom College will host the second annual Christendom Community 5k Race this Saturday, October 29, on the college’s Front Royal, Virginia, campus. All proceeds from the race, which will begin at 9:00 a.m., will go towards the college’s cross-country team.
The race is following on the success of the first community 5k last year, which attracted runners of all ages to campus for the event. The course, which goes across campus, will be a mixture of road, gravel trail, and mulch trail. There will be moderate hills and one stream crossing, with the course not suitable for strollers.
Cost to participate in the run is $15.00, with exclusive t-shirts available for the Top 10 runners.
The race is a fundraiser for the college’s men’s and women’s cross-country teams, which are now competing in their sixth full season. This year alone, the teams have secured multiple top ten finishes in races across Virginia, including an overall second place finish for the women’s team at the Golden Acorn Invitational and a fourth-place finish for senior Joseph Ellefson in the same race.
