Christendom College President Dr. Timothy O’Donnell and his wife, Cathy, will lead a pilgrimage to the beautiful sites of Catholic France this coming May. With stops in Paris, Lourdes, Ars, and more, the pilgrimage will take guests into the heart of France as they experience the rich history and Catholicism of the country.

This is the latest pilgrimage hosted by the college and O’Donnell, following on previous pilgrimages to Italy, Ireland, Germany, and elsewhere in Europe. This trip, beginning on May 22 and ending on June 1, will begin with an early arrival in Paris, where guests will take a panorama tour of Paris by boat before being led on a tour of the famed Sacra Coeur by the O’Donnells later that day.

The very next day, guests will visit the Miraculous Medal Chapel before taking a train to Lourdes, where they will tour the Shrine and take in the baths of Lourdes. On day 5, guests will travel to Toulouse to visit the Couvent des Jaobins to pray at the tomb of St. Thomas Aquinas before traveling east to the ancient city of Avignon, the city of the popes from 1309 to 1377.

Following their stay in Avignon, guests will travel to the Village of Ars for Mass at the resting place of St. Jean Vianney. From there, they will depart for the elegant wine-making region of Burgundy, where they will stop in Dijon to visit the Carmel of Flavignerot, where St. Elizabeth of the Trinity was professed. Guests will also visit the Chateau and Basilica of Fontaine-les-Dijon, which contains the birthplace of St. Bernard of Clairvaux.

On day 9, the guests will travel to Paray-le-Monial, also known as the city of the Sacred Heart. Finally, on day 10, guests will travel to Chartruese to see the Carthiusian Monastery founded by St. Bruno. Before departing back home to the United States, guests will also stop in the city of Annecy to visit the tombs of St. Francis de Sales and St. Jane de Chantel.

The pilgrimage will cost $4,700 total, with airfare included. To see the full itinerary, visit here.
