Christendom College will welcome more than a hundred participants to this year’s Padre Pio Full-Tuition Scholarship Competition on Saturday, March 18. The annual event attracts the best and brightest of Christendom’s applicants, all eager to compete for one of three full-tuition scholarships.

This year’s scholarship competition filled up in just two days and attracted over 25% more students than last year’s record number of competitors. Students will be traveling across the nation and the world for this year’s competition, hoping to win one of the three full-tuition scholarships or five renewable runners-up scholarships of $5000. Additionally, all non-winners will receive a renewable $1000 scholarship for simply competing in the competition.

The Padre Pio Full-Tuition Scholarship Competition is just one avenue offered by the college to help make its education affordable for its students. Each year, the college also awards up to five full-tuition scholarships to National Merit Scholarship Finalists, offers four different levels of merit-based scholarships based on standardized test scores, has generous sibling and alumni discounts, and gives out generous need-based loans and grants, among other offerings.

Although Christendom remains the only Catholic college in the United States to reject all Federal monies — including loan and work study programs, as well as PPP loans or grants — the college is able to offer generous aid packages, made possible through the benevolence and charity of the college’s faithful benefactors.

“Many families look to Christendom because they know that their children will learn the Truth, live the Faith, and thrive here,” says Director of Admissions Sam Phillips. “For the types of families that choose Christendom, college is a real investment – both time and money – but an investment well-spent. Through all these financial avenues, including our new Military Scholarship and Thomas S. Vander Woude Athletic Scholarship, we are working to make it possible for families to make an investment in their children that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.”
