Christendom will begin its path to another Rugby 7s National Championship Title this weekend, traveling to Gaithersburg, Maryland, for the Collegiate Rugby Championship. Taking on Coastal Carolina and SUNY Genesco in the opening round of pool play on Friday, April 28, the team will look to capture their second 7s National Title and the third National Title overall for Christendom rugby.

Christendom is competing in an 18-team field, split into six pools of 3. On Friday, Christendom will begin their weekend with a match against SUNY Genesco at 9:00 am EDT at Maryland SoccerPlex, which will air on National Collegiate Rugby’s YouTube page. They will follow that match with a game against Coastal Carolina at 3:58 pm, which will also air on YouTube and wrap up their day of pool play.

If Christendom successfully makes it through pool play, they will move onto the National Quarterfinals on Saturday. Sunday’s matches will include the National Semifinals and the National Championship game, which will both air on The Rugby Network and on YouTube.

This is Christendom’s latest trip to the Collegiate Rugby Championship, after finishing as runners-up in the 2022 National Championship game. Following a strong 2022 15s season, which saw the team have an undefeated regular season, Christendom continued taking care of business in the spring, becoming the first small college to punch their ticket to Nationals after winning the Small College Northeast Regional in February. The team also won the Cardinals Conference Championship in March, sweeping through six games to win the championship.
