Christendom College will hold its seventh annual Giving Day on Tuesday, April 9. The event will seek to rally alumni and parent support for the college’s Carroll Fund and help the next generation of Christendom students thrive as a result.
The college’s annual Giving Day has proven to be a huge success, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars over the past six years. The Carroll Fund specifically helps current students by supporting financial aid, counseling and spiritual development, career and leadership services, athletics, and faculty and staff salaries.
Following the tradition of the past few years, Giving Day will culminate with a live-streamed online event from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm EDT, featuring an exclusive tour of the college’s new Christ the King Chapel, a Divine Mercy Chaplet for deceased alumni led by College President Dr. Timothy O’Donnell, a “quodlibet” open academic forum to which viewers can submit their questions with Professors Mike Brown, Dr. Joseph Arias, and Dr. Mark Wunsch, and an interactive trivia event with Professor Mike Brown.
In addition to the online event, there will be an in-person Giving Day party near Christendom at 2 Silos Brewery in Manassas, Virginia. Hosted by alumni Karla Hester ‘99 and Gio Hudson ‘96, the event will feature appetizers and beers on tap for purchase, with the event beginning at 5:30 pm.
Each year, Giving Day focuses on a specific theme to excite and unite alumni. This year, the college will highlight several areas of impact that Giving Day participants will enable through their support, while encouraging every graduating class to go “all in” in supporting the college’s Carroll Fund.
Christendom College is one of a handful of colleges in the U.S. to not accept federal funds, and therefore relies entirely on the generosity of its many benefactors for its financial success and security. The success of each Giving Day is a testament to the passion of Christendom’s supporters, who seek to ensure that the college will be able to offer its Catholic, time-tested liberal arts education for generations to come, helping to form future Catholic leaders so needed by the Church and society today.
