Former Christendom professor Reverend Paul deLadurantaye has been named a “Chaplain to His Holiness” with the title “Monsignor” by Pope Francis. Monsignor deLadurantaye, who was a professor for the college’s Graduate School, recently completed a five-year term in the Vatican’s Secretariat of State and is set to return to Christendom’s home Diocese of Arlington this summer.
“With great joy, I write to inform you that our Holy Father Pope Francis has named Paul F. deLadurantaye a ‘Chaplain to His Holiness’ with the title ‘Monsignor,’” said the Diocese of Arlington’s Bishop Michael Burbidge. “This is a recognition of Monsignor deLadurantaye’s faithful and generous priestly and loyal service to the Universal Church and honors him and our entire diocese.”
Monsignor deLadurantaye was a member of the faculty for Christendom’s Graduate School of Theology.
At Christendom’s Graduate School, Monsignor deLadurantaye served as an assistant professor of theology before being appointed to the English section of the Vatican Secretariat of State in 2018. In addition to his service to the college, Monsignor deLaudurantaye also served as a diocesan judge and censor and is a noted author and speaker. Before being appointed to the Vatican, Monsignor deLadurantaye also served as Secretary for Catechetics and Sacred Liturgy for the Catholic Diocese of Arlington.
