On August 3, Christendom College celebrated the achievements of eleven students, awarding Master of Arts degrees in theological studies during the Graduate School of Theology’s commencement ceremonies. Four graduates were also honored with Advanced Apostolic Catechetical Diplomas during the ceremonies.

Fr. William Saunders, the first Dean of the Christendom College Graduate School following its 1997 merger with the Notre Dame Institute, returned to celebrate this year’s Baccalaureate Mass. In his homily, Fr. Saunders urged the graduates to carry out Christendom’s mission to “restore all things in Christ” as they move forward in their lives.

Following the Mass, the commencement ceremonies began, presided over for the first time by Christendom’s new president, George A. Harne, Ph.D. Dr. Harne, who began his tenure as president on July 1, will be formally installed as president on August 25.

Graduate Jourden Moger delivered this year’s commencement address, encouraging his peers to engage in evangelization efforts following their time as Christendom students.
The eleven Master of Arts degrees were awarded to Jourden Moger, Maria Juanpere, Ryan Hunt, Sarah Shatzer, Nicholas Nappi, Sr. Mary Rafqa Boulas, RSK, McKenzie Dao, Sr. Sean Marie Striby, RSK, Mary Katherine Gurtowski, Patricia Laing, and Mary Katherine Lawrence. Additionally, Juanpere, Hunt, Shatzer, and Laing received Advanced Apostolic Catechetical Diplomas.
