Christendom women’s soccer: National Championship Tournament-bound. The team, coming off the best season in program history, earned their third trip to the USCAA DII National Championship Tournament, as announced by the organization on Wednesday, November 6. They will travel to Pennsylvania for the tournament beginning on November 15, aiming for a shot at the National Championship game on November 17.
The women’s soccer team earned a #1 national ranking from the USCAA for the first time in September, a testament to their incredible performance this fall. They ultimately finished with a 10-1-3 record, including a streak of thirteen games without a loss to close their season.
Outstanding performances helped fuel the team on their unprecedented run. Defensively, Serena Keller recorded five solo shutouts and ranked #4 in the USCAA in goals-against-average for the season, finishing with an incredible 0.85. On the offensive side of the ball, Theresa Luckey finished the season ranked #4 in the USCAA in goals scored and #6 in total points. Ava Hudson ranked #4 in total points and tied for #2 in assists with Miranda Keller.
They will enter the National Championship Tournament as the #3 overall seed, beginning pool play on Friday, November 15, against either the #2 or #6 seed in the tournament. Pool play games will be played all weekend, leading into the National Championship game at Highmark Stadium on Sunday, November 17.
