Christendom College’s Class of 2024 has achieved remarkable success, with 99.2% of graduates reporting positive career outcomes or enrollment in graduate programs, according to a recent survey by the college’s Career and Professional Development Office. This far surpasses the national average of 85%, highlighting the college’s commitment to preparing students for success after graduation.
Like many institutions nationwide, Christendom surveys its graduates six months after graduation to track their career paths and educational progress. This year’s results reveal a new record for alumni success, exceeding last year’s 99.1% success rate, underscoring the effectiveness of the college’s approach to career readiness.
“I help students prepare for their post-graduation success by meeting individually with them throughout their time at Christendom,” says Director of Career & Professional Development Kristin Stephens. “Through these meetings, I am able to provide individualized suggestions, alumni and employer connections, and specific tips based on their interests and plans. Additionally, many seniors find out about opportunities through the numerous recruiters my office brings to campus each year. Christendom is set apart from our peers because we focus on post-graduation success from day one of freshman year. No other college that I know of can say the same.”
In addition to the overall success rate, 97% of graduates reported that their Christendom education was worth the investment, compared to a national average of just 66%. Furthermore, 91% of respondents said Christendom equipped them with the tools needed to succeed post-graduation.
The college’s Career and Professional Development Office played a pivotal role in all of this, with 93% of graduates rating its services as helpful—well above the national average of 16%. Through one-on-one guidance and the college’s “Education for Life” career course, students learn essential skills such as resume and cover letter writing, LinkedIn profile development, networking, interview preparation, salary negotiation, and financial literacy, giving them a leg up on their peers by the time they graduate.
These results challenge the prevailing notion that liberal arts degrees lack relevance in today’s job market. Christendom’s graduates demonstrate how a liberal arts education, with its emphasis on communication, critical thinking, innovative problem-solving, and leadership, provides a competitive edge in achieving career goals.
