Alumni and benefactors from across the country came together to support Christendom College during its annual Giving Day on April 29, raising more than $140,000 for the college.
Nearly 700 gifts were generously donated by alumni, students, parents, and other members of the college community to The Carroll Fund, with gifts continuing to be tallied as they come in the mail over the coming days.
Each year, Giving Day raises funds for initiatives directly tied to the college’s mission. This year’s focus included hiring two new faculty members, funding a new Padre Pio Full-Tuition Scholarship, and forgiving loans for graduates who pursue religious vocations. Additionally, funds were raised for a new sound system for the college’s Crusader Fields.
Giving Day featured an in-person celebration hosted by the college this year. Alumni and the Class of 2025 gathered in downtown Front Royal, Virginia, for an evening of community, featuring live music by a student band and a trivia competition hosted by beloved philosophy professor Mike Brown.
Giving Day featured an in-person celebration hosted by the college for the first time. Alumni and the Class of 2025 gathered in downtown Front Royal, Virginia, for an evening of community, featuring live music by a student band and a trivia competition hosted by beloved philosophy professor Mike Brown. Alumni from around the country joined the trivia virtually, making it a highlight of the evening.
“Giving Day was a success on many fronts,” stated Vince Criste, Director of Alumni Relations. “In addition to hosting the online giving platform with the trivia livestream, we hosted gatherings in Manassas, Virginia and Front Royal, Virginia, where alumni could come together in a fun, social environment.”
Christendom College is one of a handful of colleges in the U.S. to not accept Federal funds. It therefore relies on the generosity of benefactors for its financial success and security. The success of Giving Day is a testament to the passion of Christendom’s supporters, who seek to ensure that the college will be able to offer its Catholic, time-tested liberal arts education for generations to come, helping to form future Catholic leaders so needed by the Church and society today.
All donors are members of the Christendom College family and it is never too late to make a donation to The Carroll Fund. Anyone who wants to partner with Christendom to educate the next generation of Catholic leaders can learn more about ways to make an impact at www.christendomgivingday.com.
