Christendom College President George A. Harne, Ph.D., has released a new episode of the Christendom Conversations podcast, featuring a compelling discussion with popular speaker, writer, and theologian Dr. Andrew Whitmore. Together, they explore Dr. Whitmore’s new book, Saintly Habits, and his free online course, Becoming a Saint — both of which guide Catholics in cultivating a life of virtue.
Dr. Whitmore serves as Academic Dean and Associate Professor of Theology at Christendom, where he plays a key role in advancing the college’s mission to form students in the Catholic intellectual and moral tradition. After experiencing a profound reversion to the faith during his undergraduate years, he went on to earn his Ph.D. in theology from the Catholic University of America, specializing in St. Thomas Aquinas’ treatment of the virtues. In addition to his work at Christendom, Dr. Whitmore frequently speaks to lay audiences and teaches moral theology to permanent diaconate candidates across the country.
In this engaging conversation with Dr. Harne, Dr. Whitmore reflects on the nature of virtue, the importance of practicing it, and the transforming power of grace. He highlights the value of imitating virtuous individuals and cultivating patience as key steps on the path to sainthood, making for a rich and arresting conversation.
This marks the fifth episode of Christendom Conversations, following May’s episode with acclaimed speaker and professor Dr. John Cuddeback, which explored the role of the family in the modern world, the foundations of true friendship, and the pursuit of the good life.
Christendom Conversations is the latest addition to Christendom College’s growing podcast network, offering listeners and viewers the opportunity to engage deeply with the Catholic intellectual tradition. Through thought-provoking discussions and in-depth interviews with Catholic scholars and leaders, the podcast addresses timeless questions and enduring truths. New episodes are released monthly.
