Alumna Charlotte Twetten ’21 has launched a new podcast with Rome Reports, titled For Pete’s Sake, with the first episode debuting this past week. Recorded at the Vatican, the podcast offers a fresh, on-the-ground look at current news and trends in the Catholic Church, giving listeners a front-row seat to the latest happenings in the Heart of the Church.
The first episode, now available on YouTube, features former Vatican Radio director and longtime friend of the college Sean-Patrick Lovett. A Vatican media expert, Lovett shares stories from his 50-year career in the episode, including covering Pope Paul VI’s ceremonial throne and traveling the world with Pope Saint John Paul II. Lovett also serves as an adjunct professor for Christendom’s Semester in Rome and St. Columcille Institute programs, where he teaches communications.
Twetten, who earned her B.A. in History from Christendom in 2021, began working as a foreign correspondent for Rome Reports this spring. Based in the Vatican and Rome, she covers international events and produces multimedia content for television, print, and digital platforms. Her new podcast is the latest endeavor in her mission to bring Vatican news to a global audience in an engaging, accessible format.
For Pete’s Sake joins a growing list of podcasts created by Christendom alumni who are using modern media to take part in the New Evangelization. Anna (née Forst) McMahon ’17 launched The Woman Aesthetic podcast in 2024, a show dedicated to elevating, inspiring, and restoring the true meaning of femininity. Alumni Samuel Morales ’20, Joe Wilson ’18 and Cameron DeLaFleur ‘17 launched 100 Movies Every Catholic Should See last year, while others, like Dr. John Cuddeback ’89, host The Intentional Household podcast.
In a time when the Church is called to use modern media to proclaim the Gospel to all nations, these alumni are answering the call and working to evangelize the culture — one podcast at a time.
