Christendom College will welcome prospective students and their families to campus for four special visit events this fall, including two Saturday Open Houses on September 20 and November 22, as well as Crusader Afternoon events on Columbus Day (October 13) and Veterans Day (November 11).

“Christendom offers a demanding Catholic liberal arts education and joyful campus life that is truly unique,” said Director of Admissions Sam Phillips. “While websites and webinars are helpful for learning the basic facts and a college’s ‘laundry list,’ the best way for students and parents to understand our educational apostolate and culture is to experience it in person. The Shenandoah Valley is especially beautiful in the autumn, and we warmly welcome prospective students and their families to schedule a visit to encounter how Christendom helps students learn the Truth, live the Faith, and thrive as Catholics.”

Each Open House offers a comprehensive introduction to Christendom’s mission, curriculum, and Catholic identity, along with an overview of alumni achievements and how the college prepares students for success through its unique Education for a Lifetime courses and other personalized resources. Attendees will hear from College President George A. Harne, Ph.D., Vice President for Enrollment Tom McFadden, and Director of Admissions Sam Phillips; receive insights into our academic program from a panel of faculty members; tour the scenic campus; and participate in a theology class with Dr. Hugh O’Donnell.

In addition to the Open House events, the college is offering Crusader Afternoon events on Columbus Day (October 13) and Veterans Day (November 11) to give students and families the opportunity to take advantage of the federal holidays to visit. These afternoon events give prospective students and their families the opportunity to explore the college’s 200-acre campus and learn more about our mission, curriculum, and how Christendom forms students as lay apostles to go out and “restore all things in Christ.”

Beyond these formal visit events, Christendom offers day and overnight visits each week while classes are in session, from September 2 through December 5. During these visits, prospective students are paired with current students who serve as hosts, giving them the chance to observe a normal day on campus during which they will sit in on classes, attend Mass, share meals with the community, take part in extracurricular activities, and—for overnight guests—stay in the residence halls.
