Patrick Reilly, president of the Cardinal Newman Society, will headline Christendom College’s Fall Open House on Saturday, September 20, speaking to prospective students and their families on the importance of an authentic Catholic education in the college years and why Christendom’s mission, curriculum, and Catholic identity make it an ideal choice.

Reilly, who founded the Cardinal Newman Society and launched its popular Newman Guide to Choosing a Catholic College, is also the father of Christendom alumnus Nicholas Reilly, who graduated this past year. At the Fall Open House, he will share valuable insights both as an educator and as a parent into why his family chose Christendom, and why he believes it “has everything” for students looking to learn the Truth, live the Faith, and thrive as Catholics.

“It would be difficult for Christendom to have a fuller Catholic identity,” says the Cardinal Newman Society. “It does truly permeate the campus. You can see it, you can feel it on the campus…While some colleges in this Guide may match its Catholic commitment, it is unlikely that any exceeds it.”

In addition to Reilly’s keynote, attendees will hear from College President George A. Harne, Ph.D., about Christendom’s unique mission as a Catholic educational apostolate. Families will also learn more about Christendom’s unique academic program and mentorship opportunities from a panel of faculty members, gain insights into career preparation, alumni outcomes, and leadership opportunities, attend a sample theology class with a Christendom professor, tour the scenic campus, and more.

The September 20 Open House is one of several visit opportunities offered this fall. A second Saturday Open House will take place on November 22, along with Crusader Afternoon events on Columbus Day (October 13) and Veterans Day (November 11). These afternoon programs allow students and families to take advantage of federal holidays to explore the college’s 200-acre campus and experience firsthand Christendom’s mission to form lay apostles who will “restore all things in Christ.”

The September 20 Open House event has limited capacity. To learn more about the event and register, visit here.
