Christendom College President George A. Harne, Ph.D., has released a new episode of the Christendom Conversations podcast, featuring a compelling conversation with professor and political commentator Dr. Bracy Bersnak. Together, they discuss Catholic social teaching, the historical context of intellectual conservatism after World War II, and where conservatism stands today in the modern world.

Bersnak serves as a professor at Christendom College and is chair of the Department of Political Science and Economics. An expert in modern European history, Catholic social teaching, and modern political thought, Bersnak earned his master’s and doctoral degrees from the Catholic University of America. He has written for The Imaginative Conservative, Catholic Exchange, Crisis, Catholic Social Science Review, and has spoken at conferences across the globe.

In his conversation with Dr. Harne, Bersnak explores the tension between nationalism and globalization, while also contrasting US and European migration issues and highlighting the importance of Alexis de Tocqueville’s writings.

This marks the ninth episode of Christendom Conversations, following September’s episode featuring acclaimed poet James Matthew Wilson, who reflected on his own intellectual journey and explored human suffering through literature over the course of the conversation.

Christendom Conversations is part of Christendom College’s expanding podcast network, which offers listeners and viewers rich engagement with the Catholic intellectual tradition. Through in-depth interviews with Catholic scholars and cultural leaders, the podcast explores timeless questions and enduring truths. New episodes are released monthly.
