Giving Day has been an enormous success over the years, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars to support Christendom’s students. Named after Christendom’s beloved founder, Dr. Warren H. Carroll, the Carroll Fund directly benefits current students by providing support for financial aid, counseling and spiritual development, career and leadership services, the athletics program, and salaries for faculty and staff.
Each year, Giving Day highlights a specific theme to engage and unite alumni. This year’s theme, “Connecting Past and Present,” will invite participants to reflect on Christendom’s history while celebrating its present community. Throughout the day, familiar faces from across the college will appear in video trivia questions on christendomgivingday.com, testing alumni knowledge of campus past and present. Correct answers will earn donors extra entries into special prize drawings, which will be held the following day.
All Giving Day contributors will be entered into these prize drawings for a bundle of Christendom merchandise, including three books by faculty and alumni: One Man Perched On A Rock: A Biography of Dr. Warren H. Carroll by Laura Gossin, Canceled: Twelve Catholic Heroes That History Turned Into Villains by Steve Weidenkopf, and Saintly Habits: Aquinas’ 7 Simple Strategies You Can Use to Grow in Virtue by Andrew Whitmore. In addition, those who contribute $100 or more will be entered into a grand prize drawing for a weekend getaway on Virginia’s beautiful Mobjack Bay, generously donated by an alumni family.
Christendom is proud of its growing numbers of engaged and enthusiastic alumni, who support the mission of the college through their generosity and prayers. As one of only a few colleges in the U.S. that refuses federal funding, Christendom relies fully on generous benefactors to provide a faithful Catholic, time-tested liberal arts education — and to form the next generation of leaders so needed by our society and our Church.
