Alumnus Fr. Daniel Mellino ’20 was ordained a priest for the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP) on May 30, 2026, at St. Cecilia Cathedral in Omaha, Nebraska. Surrounded by fellow seminarians, friends, and family, Fr. Mellino became Christendom College’s 112th alumnus priest and the eleventh Christendom alumnus ordained for the FSSP.

Fr. Mellino entered formation with the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter following his time at Christendom, spending years discerning his vocation and undertaking the fraternity’s rigorous spiritual, pastoral, and academic formation program. After years of hard work, prayer, and preparation, Fr. Mellino’s journey to the priesthood is now complete, making him ready to go forth and “restore all things in Christ.”

With his ordination, Fr. Mellino joins a growing list of Christendom alumni serving with the FSSP, including Fr. Joseph Portzer, Fr. Chris Pelster, Fr. Gerard Saguto, Fr. Daniel Heenan, Fr. Zach Akers, Fr. John Killackey, Fr. David McWhirter, Fr. Joseph Dalimata, Fr. Matthew Kane, and Fr. Joseph Duffy.

Fr. Mellino also now becomes Christendom’s 112th alumnus priest through his ordination, joining the many graduates who have dedicated their lives to serving the Church following their time at Christendom. While the college was founded primarily to help form lay apostles to go out and impact every level of society for the better, Christendom’s faithful and vibrant Catholic culture has led many alumni to discern religious vocations while at the school.

In addition to its alumni priests, Christendom counts 51 religious sisters, 5 brothers, 1 permanent deacon, 14 alumni currently in seminary, 2 consecrated virgins, and 644 alumni marriages among its graduates.
