Christendom College President George A. Harne, Ph.D., has released a new episode of the Christendom Conversations podcast featuring a thoughtful discussion with professor and public policy expert Dr. Matthew Post. Together, they explore the mission of Christendom College’s new Center for Public Policy, the challenges facing today’s political landscape, and how classical philosophy and Catholic theology provide a foundation for principled public leadership.

During the conversation, Post also discusses his journey from academia to public policy and the pursuit of truth in public life, before concluding with an examination of the formation of statesmen, the importance of virtue in policymaking, and what it means to restore all things in Christ through public service.

The conversation comes on the heels of Christendom launching its new Center for Public Policy this past April, which is designed to equip leaders with the philosophical, ethical, and practical tools necessary for service in public life, nonprofit leadership, education, and policy-related professions. The Center’s flagship program is its Master of Public Policy (M.P.P.) degree, with classes slated to begin this fall.

Post, an award-winning teacher and widely published scholar, serves as the Director of Christendom’s Center for Public Policy. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Philosophy from the University of Dallas and has held senior academic and administrative roles in the United States and Europe, including Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs at the University of Tulsa and Associate Dean at the University of Dallas. A political philosopher and educational leader specializing in classical political thought, Catholic social teaching, and public leadership, Post brings deep experience in constitutional studies, virtue ethics, and institutional leadership to the Master of Public Policy program, forming students for principled service in public life.

This marks the nineteenth episode of Christendom Conversations, following July’s episode with Dr. Jon Kirwan, in which Harne and Kirwan discussed the landmark Front Royal Education Summit and its vision for renewing Catholic education.

Christendom Conversations is part of Christendom College’s expanding podcast network, which offers listeners and viewers rich engagement with the Catholic intellectual tradition.
