Conservative giant Paul Weyrich died December 19 while being hospitalized near his home in Northern Virginia. His daughter, Diana (Weyrich) Pascoe, attended Christendom College and later served on its Board of Directors.
Weyrich suffered from methicillin-resistant staph aureus, commonly termed MRSA. His funeral was held at Holy Transfiguration on December 22.
Weyrich was a firm Catholic, a deacon in the Maronite Catholic Church, as well as a good friend of Christendom College and the Department of Political Science and Economics.
Eternal rest grant unto Paul, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.
