Christendom College will welcome prospective students and their families to campus for four special visit events this fall, including two Saturday Open Houses on September 26 and November 21, as well as Crusader Afternoon events on Columbus Day (October 12) and Veterans Day (November 11).

“There’s simply no substitute for experiencing Christendom in person,” says Director of Admissions Sam Phillips. “You can read about our academics, campus life, and mission online, but a visit allows students and families to experience firsthand our campus culture and see why so many students come here to learn the Truth, live the Faith, and thrive as Catholics. Visitors sit in on classes, meet our professors and students, attend Mass, and experience the joyful Catholic culture that permeates every aspect of campus life. Fall is an especially wonderful time to visit, with the Shenandoah Valley at its most beautiful and the campus fully alive with students, making it the perfect opportunity to see whether Christendom is the right fit.”

Each Open House offers a comprehensive introduction to Christendom’s mission, curriculum, and Catholic identity, along with an overview of alumni achievements, how the college prepares students for success through its unique Education for a Lifetime courses, and other personalized resources. Attendees will hear from College President George A. Harne, Ph.D., Vice President for Undergraduate Enrollment Tom McFadden, and Director of Admissions Sam Phillips; receive insights into the college’s demanding academic program from a panel of faculty members; tour the scenic campus, including the college’s Christ the King Chapel; and participate in a sample class with a member of Christendom’s faculty.

In addition to the Open House events, the college is offering Crusader Afternoon events on Columbus Day (October 12) and Veterans Day (November 11). Similar to the Open House events, but with a more abbreviated schedule and offered on weekdays, the Crusader Afternoons give students and families the opportunity to take advantage of federal holidays to visit and learn more about distinctive offerings and how Christendom forms its students as lay apostles to go out and “restore all things in Christ.”

Beyond these formal visit events, Christendom offers day and overnight visits each week while classes are in session, from August 31 through December 4. During these visits, prospective students are paired with current students from the college’s Student Ambassador team who serve as hosts, giving visitors the chance to observe a normal day as a Christendom student. As part of their stay, visitors observe classes, attend the 11:30 AM Mass, share meals with the community, take part in extracurricular activities, and—for overnight guests—stay in the residence halls.
