While a new semester has only just begun, Christendom’s admissions office has already received a record number of applications for 2019-20 academic year. With the March 1 regular application deadline quickly approaching, the office is expecting even more applications to be submitted in the coming weeks as students eagerly seek out one of the premier Catholic liberal arts educations in the country.

“The number of applications received is already up 20% over this time last year — a marked improvement that stands in contrast to the declining admissions numbers at other American colleges,” says director of admissions Sam Phillips. “These numbers prove that our faithful, Catholic educational experience is more in demand than ever. I encourage all eligible students to send in their applications in the coming weeks, and I hope to see many of them on campus next fall.”

With the largest class in college history to graduate in May, the admissions office is expecting a record number of freshmen this fall.

Many of the students who have already applied have also applied for Christendom’s Padre Pio Full-Tuition Scholarship Competition, which will be held on March 16, 2019. Students who meet the eligibility requirements compete for a chance to win one of three full-tuition scholarships and five $5000 runner-up, renewable scholarships that will be awarded.  All participants who do not receive either a full-tuition or runner-up scholarship will be awarded a renewable $1000 participation scholarship. The deadline to apply for the competition is also on March 1.

The college decision is one of the most important in a young person’s life, and Christendom’s admissions office is seeking to make the process as easy — and affordable — as possible. In addition to the scholarship competition, the college also offers the Price Match Program, which works to match financial offers from other four-year Catholic colleges or universities.

“We don’t want money to be an obstacle to attending our educational apostolate. In our troubled times, a Christendom education, which forms men and women to contribute to the Christian renovation of the temporal order, is more important than ever, and we will do everything we can to make attending here affordable,” says Phillips.

The March 1 regular application deadline is only a few weeks away. Apply today at christendom.edu/apply.
