Nine members of Christendom’s rugby team were awarded 2023-24 Scholastic All-American honors from National Collegiate Rugby (NCR), as announced by the organization. The awards honor the highest-performing student-athletes in college rugby, putting Christendom’s students in elite company.

Nick Ackerman, Jude Burkett, Jacob Kristine, Sam Kristine, Andrew Krolick, Chris Pascoe, Chris Usher, Nicholas Ward, and Frank Woltering were all named Scholastic All-Americans for the 2023-24 academic year. In order to qualify, each had to maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher for the entire academic year and be rostered for 50% of the Fall 15s A-side matches or 50% of the A-side Spring 7s spring tournaments.

The student-athletes were members of another strong year for Christendom’s rugby program, which saw the team win numerous tournaments, make it to the National Collegiate Rugby 15s Sweet Sixteen, and finish fourth at the spring 7s Collegiate Rugby Championship.

In addition to the rugby team, the rest of Christendom’s athletics program performed exceptionally well in 2023-24, with over fifty students earning Academic All-American honors and the women’s basketball team upsetting the USCAA National Championship tournament to walk away with their first national championship in school history. Furthermore, the women’s soccer team competed in the USCAA national championship tournament, the women’s cross-country team finished third in the nation at USCAA Nationals, and multiple other varsity teams finished the year with winning records.

Christendom’s athletic program seeks to develop students’ athletic abilities, build character, and encourage a healthy balance between academics and athletics. The college has a history of students being awarded for their athletic and academic talent, with many students earning Academic All-American, All-American, and Student-Athlete of Year honors over the years.
