Christendom star student-athlete Mary Pennefather was featured as the cover star of the latest issue of the College Basketball Times, with the magazine writing a story on her path to success at Christendom. Pennefather, who helped lead Christendom’s women’s basketball team to its first national title last year, is already off to another terrific start this season, ranking in the top five for multiple categories in the USCAA.

Pennefather’s story is explored in depth in the article, chronicling her journey from competing against her siblings and father at home to playing on the biggest stage in the USCAA National Championship game last spring. Since arriving at the college as one of the Class of 2027’s two Thomas S. Vander Woude Athletic Scholarship winners, Pennefather has lived up to all expectations and then some, winning multiple Player of the Week honors from the USCAA, earning 1st Team All-American honors for the 2023-24 season from the USCAA, and earning All-Tournament honors from the USCAA as well. Pennefather was also named Player of the Year by the Eastern States Athletic Conference for the 2023-24 season.

This season, Pennefather has already earned one Player of the Week honor, helping lead Christendom to a 9-0 start in their national title-defense run. She currently ranks #2 in the USCAA in points per game, #2 in 3-point percentage, and #1 in assists.
