The Christendom Players will return to the stage this spring with performances of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s famed musical adaptation of Cinderella. The show, which will be performed over the weekend of April 11-13 in Christendom’s Old Chapel Hall, promises to showcase an incredible cast of students with remarkable vocals and striking choreography as they bring to life this timeless tale.
The latest Christendom musical will star senior Lauren Bosack in the title role, with senior Andre Morales playing Prince Charming. Kaylee O’Neill, Abigail Greca, Jillian Vincent, and Maggie McCourt will play the supporting roles of the stepmother and stepsisters in this adaptation of the classic fairytale.
The show will be directed by Christendom alumna and theater veteran Elizabeth Foeckler, who has multiple shows under her belt, including Annie Get Your Gun, The Winter’s Tale, Murder on the Nile, Little Women, and last fall’s premiere play, The Actor. Alumna and former Christendom Player Maria Simon is supporting Foeckler in preparing choreography and running vocal rehearsals with students.
The all-student cast was selected through a competitive and rigorous process of auditions and callbacks. All are hard at work at regular rehearsals and are thrilled to bring Cinderella to the stage in April.
The musical will be open to the public, with tickets available for reservation and at the door. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. every night, with shows starting at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $5 for children and $8 for adults.
The Christendom Players, a student-run club, performs an annual fall play and spring musical. Although Christendom College does not offer a performing arts major, many students include acting as part of their extracurricular pursuits during college. The resulting showcase of talent – both musical and theatrical – draw in students across all the disciplines, resulting in rich theatrical productions each academic year.
