The Christendom Players will hit the stage this spring with performances of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s renowned musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The show, which will be performed over the weekend of April 24-26 in Christendom’s Old Chapel Hall, will aim to thrill audiences with its incredible cast of student performers, who will deliver performances full of eclectic music and vibrant choreography in a memorable adaptation of the Biblical story.
The musical will star Nick Anderson in the title role, with senior Tess Brons, freshman Nadia Henry, and sophomore Sarah Mandy cast as Narrators, and freshman Anthony Morales playing the supporting role of Pharoah in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s adaptation.
The show will be directed by Christendom alumna and theater veteran Elizabeth Foeckler, who has directed multiple shows with the Christendom Players, including Cinderella, The Winter’s Tale, Murder on the Nile, Little Women, and 2024’s premiere play, The Actor.
The all-student cast was chosen through a competitive and rigorous process of auditions and callbacks. All are hard at work at regular rehearsals and are thrilled to bring Joseph to the stage in April.
The musical will be open to the public, with tickets available for reservation and at the door. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. every night, with shows starting at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $7 for children and $9 for adults.
The Christendom Players, a student-run club, performs an annual fall play and a spring musical. Although Christendom College does not offer a performing arts major, many students include acting as part of their extracurricular pursuits during college. The resulting showcase of talent – both musical and theatrical – draws in students across all the disciplines, resulting in rich theatrical productions each academic year.
